You’ve invested a lot in your RV, so you’ll want to take good care of it. Just like your stationary home, your mobile home is going to need some quality care, the easiest and most basic of this being regular cleaning. Most of your chores will be intuitive, but cleaning your camper is going to be a little different from cleaning your everyday home. To help you out and stay organized, we’ve provided tips for making this challenge easier.

Supplies

A good cleaning strategy starts with the right gear. Keep in mind that consolidation is key. If you can find products that are of the 2-in-1 variety, or if you can find other ways to save space, make that a priority. You’ll also want to find gentle products to avoid damaging the materials your camper is made out of. Some easy-to-find supplies that might come in handy include lemon juice, vinegar, baking soda, and microfiber wipes.

Bathroom

Your bathroom will probably need the most regular attention. Here again, we want to stress the importance of gentle cleaning products, as the materials your bathroom is made of can be easily damaged by harsh chemicals. When you’re cleaning the toilet, make sure you fill the bowl with water before starting and flush a few times to ensure all the product goes down to the holding tank. The toilet should be washed once a week and everything else once every other week.

Kitchen

You’ll want to regularly wipe down the countertops in the kitchen and clean the fridge. If you have food buildup on the stove or oven, make a paste out of baking soda and water and apply it to the entire surface. Let it sit overnight and wipe it down in the morning.

Floor

Cleaning the floor will largely depend on what kind of floor you have. If you have hard floors, then you’ll want a foldable or collapsible mop. At the very least, you’ll want some disinfectant wipes if all you anticipate for a short trip is spot treatments.

If you have carpet, then we recommend a hand vacuum. This will mean vacuuming the entire floor will take a little longer, but it won’t take up as much room as a bigger vacuum would.

Hopefully, this gets you started, but a great way to make a big task easier is to constantly do a little bit of cleaning. If you still need the right camper for your family, stop by JR Motors in Lake Havasu City and Parker, AZ, and ask one of our staff members to show you some of the models we have available right now. We welcome all those coming from Blythe.
