Cook Outside

One way to prevent extra heat in your RV is by cooking outside. Starting a campfire in the middle of a 90+ degree afternoon might not sound pleasant, but it’s a lot better than heating up an oven in a small kitchen area. You can cook all your food outside, put the fire out, and enjoy a nice hot meal without heating up your RV!

Maximize Ventilation

It doesn’t take long for heat to build up in a  small space. Especially your RV’s been baking in the sun all day. Let out that excess heat by opening all the windows on the shady side of the camper in the early morning, and then again in the evening. This will maximize the amount of cool air coming in. Additionally, make sure to have the fans running all day, to keep the air moving. 

Use Air-Conditioning As Need

If natural cooling methods and preventative measures still can’t beat the heat, you might have to rely on the A/C. Luckily, RVs are compact spaces, and cranking up the A/C can be a great way to fully flush out the heat in a short period of time.

However, air conditioning is best used as a last resort. You can usually keep your RV cool with natural methods, which saves you energy and money.
